Tulane Reading Room at Crocker College Prep

The Tulane Reading Room will return for another school year at Crocker College Prep! The Tulane program brings over 500 college student service-learning volunteers to the Crocker Library to read to our students each week.  Volunteers are assigned a reading buddy in PreK through 4th grade and meet with them weekly throughout the school year to work on their literacy skills. We’re so grateful to Tulane for partnering with us on this amazing support system for our students. Thank you to all of our Green Wave volunteers!

King, Krebs, & Jurgens Law Firm Supports Cohen's Digital Literacy Program

New Orleans, LA - New Orleans College Prep (NOCP), a local charter school network, and King, Krebs & Jurgens, a New Orleans-based law firm, have taken the first step in closing the digital literacy gap for students in the 2015-2016 school year. The year saw the launch of NOCP’s new Digital Literacy Program, which is being piloted with new computers at Walter L. Cohen College Prep (Cohen), NOCP’s high school. Many New Orleans students don’t have internet access at home and need to learn word processing, online research, and presentation skills at school.
